We offer free site visits to every homeowner thinking about a new driveway, patio, or paving project across Bristol and the surrounding area. A lot of people are not quite sure what to expect or what they need to have decided before we come out. The answer is: not much. The whole point of the visit is to help you work things out, not to arrive with a pre-planned sales pitch. Here is what actually happens.
We Come to You
You do not need to come to a showroom or fill in lengthy forms. One of our team comes to your property at a time that suits you, including evenings and weekends when we can accommodate it. We cover all of Bristol and the surrounding areas including South Gloucestershire, North Somerset, and out to areas like Weston-super-Mare, Portishead, Yate, and Keynsham.
We Look at the Site Properly
During the visit we take proper measurements of the area. We also look at a number of things you might not have thought about: the existing drainage setup and how it can be maintained or improved, the condition of any existing surface and whether there is anything underneath that might affect the new installation, the gradient of the site and how water needs to be managed, the access constraints, and whether any kerb lowering or dropped kerb work is required.
We look at the neighbouring surfaces and the property’s architectural style too. Getting the material and colour choice right in context makes a significant difference to the finished result.
We Bring Samples
We always bring physical samples of block paving, aggregate blends, and pattern references to the site visit. Seeing a real block or resin sample next to your front door, against your brickwork, and in the natural light of your specific property is far more useful than looking at photographs online. Colours and finishes read very differently in a catalogue versus a cold Bristol morning in October. We want you to make a decision you will be happy with long term, so we take the time to go through the options with you properly.
We Ask Questions
A good site visit involves as much listening as talking. We want to understand how you use the space, whether you need parking for one car or three, whether children or older family members use the area, whether you have a strong preference for a particular look, and what your timeline is. All of that feeds into what we recommend and how we design the project.
We will also tell you honestly if we think a particular approach is not the right fit for your property or situation. We have been doing this for over 25 years and we would rather give you straightforward advice up front than have a job go ahead that does not suit the brief.
You Get a Written Quote
After the visit we put together a detailed written quote. This covers exactly what work will be done, the materials to be used, the timescale, and the total. There are no hidden items and no vague allowances. If there is an element of the job that carries uncertainty, we flag it clearly rather than burying it in small print.
You are under no obligation when you receive the quote. We do not follow up repeatedly or apply pressure. If it works for you, great. If you want to get another quote or take more time to think, that is absolutely fine.
