Block paving and resin bound are the two most-asked-about driveway finishes in Bristol right now, and they're chosen for very different reasons. This is the conversation we have at every site visit, distilled into one post.
Block paving: classic, repairable, customisable
Block paving is the default Bristol driveway for good reason. Individual blocks can be lifted and replaced if a service trench is dug. The pattern, colour and edging are infinitely customisable. And it ages well: a well-installed block driveway looks good for 20 years and more.
Resin bound: smooth, modern, permeable
Resin bound is a single continuous pour. No joints, no weeds, fully permeable so it stays inside permitted development on Bristol front gardens. It's faster to install, particularly if we can overlay an existing tarmac base, and the surface stays virtually maintenance-free for years.
How to choose
If you want pattern and individual block repair, choose block paving. If you want a smooth modern finish with zero weed maintenance, choose resin bound. Both will outlast the average car. The site visit is free either way.
