A new imprinted concrete driveway may look finished before it is ready for normal use. Concrete curing and sealer requirements both influence reopening. The relevant instructions should come from the installer for the actual system and conditions, not from an unrelated online timetable.
Separate the stages
Placing and imprinting the concrete is one stage. Cleaning, joint work, sealing and protection may follow. Ask which stage has been completed and what restrictions remain. A decorative surface can look complete while the programme still includes important work.
Walking and vehicle use are different demands. Do not infer permission to park because somebody has carefully walked over an area during construction. The installer should clearly release the surface for the intended type of use.
Make temporary access workable
Agree an alternative route to the house where possible. Include children, pets, deliveries and any mobility needs. Barriers should be understandable to someone who has not been part of the project discussion.
Move vehicles out before access is closed and check whether a garage or side gate will also be unavailable. If weather or curing conditions change the programme, ask for an updated reopening instruction rather than assuming the original plan still applies.
Be careful with the first uses
Once the driveway is released, follow any early-use guidance for parking, steering and cleaning. Do not drag heavy items across the finish or apply a cleaner simply to remove a temporary construction mark. Ask first if the correct response is unclear.
Keep the written handover instructions. They provide a reference for household members and help avoid an accidental early delivery onto a protected surface.
Before the team leaves: Confirm the permitted walking route, when vehicles may return, what protection must remain in place and who to contact if the surface is accidentally marked. Clear instructions are more useful than one universal number of hours.
